Next year in the month of
May, God permits, will be an election again for Senators and the Local
Government Unit (LGU) Officials.
Since the time the
Philippines was granted Independence by America on July 4, 1946, it has become
the societal rule deeply held in this country that we are stirred up by
candidates coming from Metro Manila and Luzon. Frankly, we don’t want this kind
of leaders, people who are fond of making big declarations, six-figure income
setting on the Board of corporations and all of those things we have mistaken
to be brilliant. You see those Oligarch statuses and speaking highfalutin words
and immerse with political endorsements on TV Stations are mesmerizing to most
voters.
But the irony of electing
leaders through blind adoration paved the way for leaders who had built our
government that focuses on a system projecting that happiness is materialism or
more things are the better we are. With this kind of a system, clearly, only
the powerful will benefit therefrom as they turned the government into a
cesspool of corruption. Consequently, in our country, the rich become richer,
and the poor become poorer that has brought our country to economic doldrums
and turmoil as we were illuminated by the light of false fires.
What we must direct our
anger and venomous arrows is the root cause of a corrupt regime. According to
our history, it has always been the duplicitous and lecherous role of the
elites and those in the corridors of power. If we still fail to elect good
leaders and learn from our mistakes, these traditional politicians who live
with pretensions, arrogance and greed for money will always keep laughing all
the way to the bank, as they spit in the faces of all Filipinos as worthless
idiotic culture of cowards, accompanied by the awkward action of the graceless
swipe.
