The statement
of PBBM that “corruption cannot be stopped, and that he has to leave it as is”,
clearly, was a comfort spot for him. He has no foreboding of what fate had in store for the
Filipinos. This is irresponsible utterances by a President who has given
up solving the biggest issue of corruption without even lifting a finger yet. Thus,
it left
a bad taste in most people’s mouth as you could imagine. It
just epitomizes how apocalyptic the nation is going to be with this President
during the entire duration of his term. Thus, the Philippines would have to
subsist as a treasure trove of horrors
--the unrelenting corrupt practices of our government officials and more
looting of public funds, and/or pulverizing yet some more of our already
impoverished and devastated nation that their metamorphosis was rapid.
It
bears to the most primitive of reasons, this was kind of another
brick in the wall that is much bigger
than PBBM stands on the floor. It was a lasso tossed at him as President that
his popularity seemed forever fading over the horizon. He never
imagined this would go so epically wrong. For Pres. Marcos, Jr. to turn his
back from corruption, which should even be everyone’s Holy Grail to
pursue, was a clear display of condescending superiority, if not
sarcastic, regard for the middle class and down to the poorest of the poor on
account of their being small, weak, and
helpless that they deserve to suffer a plethora of hardships to eternity. Having said that, I'm deeply touched bringing a tear to my eye how our countrymen are being genitalized rather than respected.
An
important component to peel out is that, in every tick-tack, tick-tack of time
that Pres. Marcos, Jr. will passively sit and watch corruption proliferate, the
damages to our country are going to ramp up out of proportion that surely scare
the living bejesus out of everyone. It is because the corruptors keep doing the
same thing anywhere and everywhere day in and day out stealing money while laughing their hearts out.
