The ones who truly suffered the consequences of the raid perpetrated by the FDA against the Cancer Center f Dr. Farrah Bunch were unmistakably the poor and destitute who are suffering from the dreaded disease of Cancer. These people have considered the Cancer Center as the only lifeline for their survival. Now that the FDA had closed it, it is a matter of time, God forbids, they will die sooner than later.
Significantly, these people burdened with the challenges of poverty have little room or ability to have their voices heard. That’s why; I endeavored to get information from the very reliable source as far as I can penetrate. What I’ve known from a high ranking official who talked to the FDA in an objective way, Dr. Farrah Bunch violated the prohibition to sell and dispose of her alternative medicine without having them registered yet since her application was still pending. According to the FDA, the delay in acting to her application was not a reason for her despite the insistence of the patients to defy the law prohibiting the sale of unregistered products. This is the main issue of the case.
Since the case is already in the proper forum, our discussion about the merits of the case would now be sub judice, which means any public discussion is prohibited.
Nevertheless, the government has always attempted as often as it failed for a peace agreement with the NPA for a continuous period of 50 years with an incentive of Ph150K for every firearm that they will surrender costing billions of pesos. Consider this; the NPAs have killed an indefinite but emphatically large number of people and cost destruction and ruins to our country. If that is the case, it would not be so hard for the FDA which is an instrumentality thereof to forgive and forget the case against Dr. Farrah Bunch just to save the lives of the Cancer patients and the cost of litigation. After all, the selling of the alternative medicine by Dr. Farrah Bunch to her patients during the pendency of her application for registration did not result in any deaths and damages but instead the patients’ survival. This certainly would be a win-win solution of the case.
This is the fastest way to resolve the issue. Kindly, all who sympathized the cancer patients may pour out their sentiments on the comments so the government will be convinced how urgent the situation for the Cancer Center to reopen. This is better and safe than your plan to stage a rally in front of the FDA.
