ABS-CBN
Gabby Lopez and Carlo Katigbak seemed to blur the line between Reality TV and
reality. Fighting it out in court and see who will be the last man standing,
the critical situation will just get worse. To have an early victory nip in the
bud for the ABS-CBN is by taking the bull by the horns. Choose the most human
and practical approach that will unbind the tangled braid with one swoop of the
sword, and that is an amicable settlement with PRRD. Just remember, the
boundary zone between land and water tells the difference between life and
death.
It is
not the battle in court that will save you. Often times a reverse has but made
the room for more prosperous fortune.
Do not
listen to the legal luminaries around you and tell you that you will be issued
a provisional permit to operate. That will never happen. And to wait for
Congress to renew your franchise means you will be waiting in vain. Can’t you
see the reality if you leave your fate in the hands of those politicians? These
politicians are just taking you even deeper to your grave while they will be
laughing all the way to the bank.
Take
the queue that Mayor Sarah Duterte Carpio said on TV: that his father has a
heart of gold and can easily forgive and forget. The ABS-CBN has not been fair
to him but PRRD is fair, I can guarantee you that.
You
know in conscience and morality there is a lot wrong with how you have been
treating PRRD. Accordingly, you cannot keep displaying your nerves of steel and
walked away scot free. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.
Yes, it
is hard and embarrassing to strike a settlement when you are at fault because
you have to swallow your pride and ego. But just to buy peace, do it; anyway,
nobody was ever heard to have died from swallowing his pride.
To say
more, you have to accept the fact that it was you who created your own storms,
so, do not be upset when it rains. Your relation with PRRD is not all sunshine
but you can share one umbrella and survive the storm together.
This is
the greatest battle of your life trying to save your company and this can only
be won by using your brain and not by brute force. I know this because I’ve
been settling cases for 30 years as a Judge of the agrarian court, the DARAB
(DAR Adjudication Board). I can now consider myself a master because I have
failed more times than the beginner has ever tried.
