If
you look at the living conditions of most of our less fortunate Filipinos who
are caught between a rock and a hard place of the effects of corruption by
public officials, it is unthinkable. It doesn’t have the infrastructure, it
doesn’t have the sanitation. It doesn’t have all these sorts of facilities that
amount to what people need.
It
was pain and misery and trauma on a scale so large that it was almost
unfathomable even for somebody who was seeing it right in front of their eyes.
It’s a scene that isn’t equipped to deal with.
As
we live in the equilibrium with corruption, the survivor’s hardest test still
lies down the road, a gantlet of death.
