Justice Carpio, Sen. Lacson, and the critics of PRRD are urging
him to enforce our country’s right over the disputed West Philippine Sea as our
exclusive economic zone. Therefore, only the Filipinos have the right to fish.
This kind of posture could be considered by China as a combative stance. That’s
why I don’t have a lot of patience for voices that criticize PRRD of his stand
on the issue.
The critics’ posture absolutely
would have a detrimental and deleterious effect,
and it’s going to cause issues on the disputed area situation. Moreso, it will
not help to soften the blow of whatever bad blood that is growing in the
disputed area.
These critics’ very strong ideas of what they think are the
right way to do things do not always work. Each of them thinks that way about
himself. They see the issue in a certain way and when PRRD is not doing what
they want him to be doing they get angry because they feel like their idea is
the right way to do it.
That kind of hard stance the critics display, fortunately, PRRD
don’t feel that way. They might try to force his hand to do it but he does not
capitulate to that. So, all that the critics can do is to keep silent.
